Question Replacing asctime with strftime

I was wondering why obsolete functions like asctime have not been replaced with newer ones like strftime instead?

I figure it's because it works as it is, so noone has bothered.
strftime() is actually used a couple of places as well, where the timeformat matters.

<grin> I know it works. Just sometimes I use cppchecker and it keeps flagging them as obsolete, so I was curious about it. Obviously not a big deal, but would move the codebase forward.
