Question tbaMUD source do_tell bug

Hi
i downloaded your latest code and i found a bug in the game, there is a guide help mob
immortals can tell guide help nothing happends,
BUT
if a mortal lvl 1 use tell guide help it says No one by that name here.

Then i tryed telling other mobs with same result.

How can i fix that ?

Confirmed this one on TBA. Mortals can't tell mobs. I can't see an easy fix and could use some help if someone can help track this one down. You get the "NOPERSON" response when you try. It works fine for immortals.

Also immortals can use abbreviations in tell but mortals cant.

Like if you wanna make a tell to Rumble you do, tell rumb hi

mortals has to write full names.

I think that the reason you can't "tell" mobs is that you'd be able to "tell megamonsterwithgreatloot loaded?" and quickly check if the monster is loaded, instead of fighting your way there to check.

About the "full name"; this should be fixable.

Well You could just ADD a check so You could talk to mobs in same room and if your not in same room just say something Else

There could be times like a guide mob where it Would be good to be able to tell them

If you want to tell mobs in the same room, maybe it would be better to just use whisper/ask/say channels?

I definitely agree with Thomas on it being problematic letting mortals identify whether a mobile loaded or not with tell :P Especially if you plan on having rare-load mobiles, etc
