In regards to your question about how Hmud shows IP, it does show the persons actual IP.

Okay, it does have messaging. The little text box to message someone is under their avatar on every post or the "private messages" in the same place on your profile page.

UPDATE: We are not blind, Welcor added the messaging system between our posts. There is also a link at the top right of the forums now too.

You have to go to your messaging link under your profile and enable email notification for new messages. It is off by default.
