Question Run tba with stock Circle zones only?

Hi,

I started going through the zones in tba to "detach" the ones that I wanted to move (or remove) from my mud and found out it is quite a task and fraught with possible user-error.

Question:
Is it possible to start fresh with just the "stock" Circle zones only?

The tba building.txt documenation states, "Older versions of CircleMUD and other codebases use a different format so to add these zones you will have to understand and modify them to work."

So it's understandable that this may not be an easy process.

I tried making changes to allow them to load, but it still ends up failing after the load.

Is there a conversion utility program, or does tba possibly have the old stock Circle world files somewhere converted without having all of the tba-created zones attached?  Are they in git?

Looking at github, maybe the "128 bits! --Rumble" commit would do the trick?

UPDATE: Just checked but that commit has all of the tba zones in it.

I decided to start with just copying over the stock .wld files and deleting all .zon and .wld files there were new with tba and it boots!

There are syserrs so I have to see what it doesn't like, but at least it's a start.

I'm going to continue, but if anyone has any ideas, lmk!

A similar thread might answer some of your questions:

Another option is to run the MUD with mini-world option. Check out each World file directory and look at the index.mini

Thanks for the tip!

I'm well on my way to stock zones... it's a bit tedious, but definitely do-able!

Just wanted to let others know that the imm command "links" is of great help finding which zones connect where.

Just go to the zone in question and type: links
